Job Description

As a Network Engineer at Dutybell, you will be a key member of the IT team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s computer networks. This role involves working with various networking technologies to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of the company’s network infrastructure. The Network Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and drive innovation in network solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Network Design and Implementation:
    1. Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s computer networks, including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks.
    2. Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration of network systems.
  2. Network Security:
    1. Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization’s networks from unauthorized access, breaches, and other security threats.
    2. Monitor network security infrastructure and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  3. Routing and Switching:
    1. Configure and manage routers and switches to optimize network performance.
    2. Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  4. Firewall and VPN Management:
    1. Configure and manage firewalls to control and monitor network traffic.
    2. Implement and maintain virtual private network (VPN) solutions for secure remote access.
  5. Wireless Networking:
    1. Design, deploy, and manage wireless networks to support the connectivity needs of the organization.
    2. Optimize wireless network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  6. Network Monitoring and Optimization:
    1. Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues.
    2. Conduct regular performance analysis and implement optimizations to enhance network efficiency.
  7. Collaboration and Communication:
    1. Work closely with other IT teams, including systems administrators, security professionals, and support staff, to ensure cohesive and efficient IT operations.
    2. Communicate network changes and updates to relevant stakeholders.
  8. Documentation:
    1. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
    2. Keep documentation up-to-date to facilitate knowledge transfer and troubleshooting.
  9. Capacity Planning:
    1. Monitor network resource utilization and plan for capacity upgrades as needed.
    2. Recommend and implement hardware and software upgrades to support evolving business requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and security principles.
  • Experience with network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certifications are desirable.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
