As a Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the IT infrastructure of the organization. Working within the IT team, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the company’s computer systems and networks. Key Responsibilities:

  1. System Configuration and Maintenance:
    • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and system management tools.
    • Monitor system performance and take proactive measures to optimize and enhance system efficiency.
  2. Network Administration:
    • Manage and administer the organization’s computer networks, including local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
    • Configure routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure network security and proper connectivity.
  3. Server Management:
    • Administer and maintain servers, both physical and virtual, to ensure uninterrupted service.
    • Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
  4. Security and Compliance:
    • Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the organization’s systems and data.
    • Monitor and respond to security incidents, conduct regular security audits, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  5. User Support:
    • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related problems, escalating issues as needed.
  6. Backup and Recovery:
    • Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to protect critical data.
    • Test and verify backup systems to ensure data integrity and availability.
  7. Collaboration with IT Teams:
    • Collaborate with other IT professionals, including developers, network engineers, and support staff, to address cross-functional IT needs.
    • Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects.
  8. Documentation:
    • Create and maintain system documentation, including configurations, processes, and procedures.
    • Keep documentation up-to-date to facilitate knowledge transfer and troubleshooting.
  9. Capacity Planning:
    • Monitor system resource utilization and plan for capacity upgrades as needed.
    • Recommend and implement hardware and software upgrades to support evolving business requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in system administration tools and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), network protocols, and security concepts.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or equivalent are desirable.
