Job hunt for engineering & tech students

Comapnies plan to recruit more from the class of 2022-23 than they did from the class of 2021-22. As well as offering higher compensation and benefits for new employees.

In the annual survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, nine out of ten companies rate the new job market as good, very good and excellent. Public accounting and consulting firms reported the brightest prospects for future graduates, while engineering and construction firms backed the idea by saying they would also hire.

There is also an increasing demand for new graduates in the job market, because of the products and services they offer and also to keep up with retired HR employees.

Mechanical engineering graduates top the list and are eyeing aerospace, automotive, mechanical equipment manufacturers. They are also planning to recruit graduates with PhD in science and computer related courses.

Banking, transportation, financial and insurance services are seeking Economics/Finance graduates. Food and beverage processing companies, merchants and financial services will need more business administration/management degree holders. A third of business owners plan to hire associate graduates classified into three: technology, engineering and business-related degrees. Insurance and Engineering/Survey companies see the most need for 2-year course graduates as they have a productive type of technical knowledge which does not require much training. They belong to a hands-on work force that has developed a good work ethic that is seen by employers as missing out on past amateur graduates.

During the survey, only 23.5%, (mainly manufacturers) respondents planned to hire international graduates in 2006.
